Dine in elegance at CUT Steakhouse in Halifax, Nova Scotia, the only restaurant in Eastern Canada to carefully select and dry-age its beef in-house for 35 days, a process that develops a highly concentrated and intense flavour-the mark of a truly phenomenal steak.

Take a seat in our spacious, sophisticated dining room and enjoy the beautiful ambience that surrounds you. Glance out the window at Halifax Harbour and listen to the sounds of Miles Davis, Frank Sinatra or Louis Armstrong playing in the background, all while appreciating the dim lighting, crisp linens and arrangement of fresh flowers at the end of the fine Italian granite bar.

Begin your evening with a delectable starter, such as beef carpaccio or AAA beef tartare, prepared tableside. Have our Sommelier choose an award-winning wine from our cellar to complement your choice to perfection. Perhaps a crisp Pinot Grigio or intense Cabernet Franc.

Our diverse menu caters to a variety of desires; however the true beef connoisseur will really feel at home here. Choose from an array of USDA Prime, dry-aged for 35 days, USDA Prime, wet aged for 21 days, Kobe, and Local Beef. Pair your choice with one of our fine British or American steak ales, such as Rogue Shakespeare Stout or Trafalgar India Pale Ale. Complement your main course with Yukon gold potato strings, basmati rice with green peas, sautéed chanterelle mushrooms, or grilled steak tomatoes, and perhaps even a seductive sauce such as veal jus lie with vintage port or brandy flambéed peppercorn sauce.

Allow your meal to come to a luxuriously elegant close with a sampling of fine cheeses, a chocolate banana flan or classic crème brûlée, beautifully paired with a specialty liqueur.

Service at our sophisticated steakhouse is definitely a cut above. Personal touches and individual attention are guaranteed. Our servers are highly skilled, extremely knowledgeable in fine dining, have sampled our extensive wine list, and are here to make your culinary experience nothing short of extraordinary.

Each dish on our menu is intense in flavour and carefully prepared under the direction of Executive Chef Tahir Salamat. Trained in classic French cuisine, he further developed his culinary craft in Qatar, Seychelles, Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia before joining RCR Hospitality Group in Halifax.

CUT Steakhouse is located at the corner of Lower Water and Salter Streets, in front of the Marriot Courtyard Hotel and next to the Brewery Market. Our harbourview dining room seats 60 guests. Private dining is available in a curtained room that seats 25 . A full-service patio and upper deck is open throughout the summer months, weather permitting. There is also a private smaller deck which seats just two guests - perfect for special occasions.

Open for dinner daily, from 5:30 pm. Our last reservation is at 10:00 pm. Ample parking is available across the street.
